Kids&Coo Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and other necessary matters between Kids&Coo (hereinafter the "Company") and users in connection with the use of the Kids&Coo mobile application (hereinafter the "Service") provided by the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in these Terms are defined as follows:
- "Service" means the Kids&Coo mobile application provided by the Company and all related features (mood log, AI Chat Time conversations, strengths Storybook, praise stickers, family sharing, etc.).
- "User" means any member or non-member who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- "Member" means a person who has provided personal information to the Company and signed up for membership, and who may continuously use the Company's Service.
- "Content" means any text, images, voice recordings, mood logs, photos, or other materials created or uploaded by users within the Service.
- "Family" means a set of guardian and child accounts linked by the same family identifier (family_id).
- "Child information" means the name, date of birth, and gender of a child entered by a guardian, as well as any mood logs, voice recordings, photos, and other information related to that child.
Article 3 (Effect and Modification of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect by being posted on the Service screen or by any other means.
- The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable laws. When the Terms are amended, the Company will give notice via an in-app announcement or email at least 7 days before the effective date (or at least 30 days in advance for changes that are unfavorable to users).
- If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, the user may stop using the Service and request withdrawal of membership. Continued use of the Service without an explicit objection will be deemed acceptance of the amended Terms.
Article 4 (Membership and Conclusion of the Use Contract)
- The use contract is concluded when a user agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, applies for membership in accordance with the sign-up form prescribed by the Company, and the Company accepts such application.
- Children under the age of 14 may not sign up as members. Minors aged 14 or older must obtain the consent of their legal representative.
- The Company may refuse to accept, or subsequently terminate, an application that falls under any of the following:
- Applications made using another person's identity.
- Applications containing false information.
- Applications by those with a history of violating these Terms or applicable laws.
Article 5 (Description of the Service)
The Company provides the following Services:
- Mood log: A feature that allows users to record their own or their child's daily emotions and view them in a calendar.
- Chat Time (AI Conversation): Voice-recording-based STT (Speech-To-Text) conversion and AI conversation response features.
- Strengths Record (Storybook): A feature that compiles a child's growth records in a storybook format.
- Praise Stickers: A feature for awarding praise for a child's behavior in the form of stickers.
- Family Sharing: A feature that lets guardians (parents) share their child's records with each other.
- Other supplementary services that the Company additionally develops or provides through partnerships.
Article 6 (Service Availability and Suspension)
- In principle, the Service is provided 24 hours a day, year-round.
- The Company may temporarily suspend the Service in cases of system maintenance, expansion, replacement, failure, force majeure, and other unavoidable reasons, in which case it will provide notice in advance or after the fact.
- Some features may be limited due to failures in external dependent services (Supabase, RevenueCat, AdMob, OpenAI, etc.). The Company's liability for any direct damages arising therefrom is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Article 7 (Member Obligations)
- Members must comply with these Terms, applicable laws, and Company notices.
- When entering child information or uploading child-related content (recordings, photos, etc.), members warrant that they are the guardian of the child concerned and have obtained all necessary consents.
- Members must not engage in any of the following:
- Stealing another person's information or registering false information.
- Uploading obscene or violent content, or content that defames or insults others.
- Interfering with the stable operation of the Service or using the Service for commercial purposes without authorization.
- Uploading the voice or photos of any third party other than the user's own child without consent.
Article 8 (Company Obligations)
- The Company will not engage in acts prohibited by applicable laws or these Terms and will use its best efforts to provide a stable and continuous Service.
- The Company will implement security systems to protect users' personal information and will publish and abide by a separate Privacy Policy.
- The Company will promptly process legitimate opinions or complaints from users and notify the member of the result.
Article 9 (Subscriptions and Paid Payments)
- The Company may offer paid subscription products (such as the Free / Kids&Coo Pro tiers) through the RevenueCat payment infrastructure.
- Payments are processed in accordance with the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and refund requests are subject to the policies of the respective store.
- Recurring subscriptions automatically renew 24 hours before expiration. Members may cancel renewal at any time via the subscription management menu of the relevant store.
- The Company may issue free-use coupons for promotional or testing purposes. The validity period and applicable conditions of each coupon are separately notified at the time of issuance.
Article 10 (Advertising)
- The Company may provide rewarded advertisements through AdMob in order to operate the Service. Rewarded ads may be requested for one-time use of specific features such as STT conversion, praise sticker issuance, and Chat Time topic generation.
- During ad delivery and reward payout, advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID, etc.) and certain device information may be transmitted to advertising operators. For details, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
- Paid subscription members are exempted from certain advertisements within the scope set out in these Terms.
Article 11 (Processing of Personal Information)
- The Company protects and processes users' personal information (email, name, child information, mood logs, voice recordings, photos, etc.) in accordance with applicable laws and the Company's Privacy Policy.
- Data is stored on the Supabase hosting infrastructure (EU/Asia regions). The specific items, purposes, and retention periods of processing are set out in a separate Privacy Policy.
- When a member requests withdrawal of membership, the Company will, without delay, destroy the relevant information except for information required to be retained by applicable laws.
Article 12 (Copyright in Content)
- Copyright in content registered to the Service by users belongs to the respective user.
- Users grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content for the operation, improvement, and promotion of the Service (in non-identifiable statistical form that does not allow user identification). However, photos and voice of children will not be used for promotional purposes other than non-identifiable statistics.
- Copyright in content directly produced by the Company (icons, copy, AI response templates, etc.) belongs to the Company.
Article 13 (Restrictions on Use of the Service)
- The Company may, without prior notice, take measures such as warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent suspension of use if a member violates these Terms or applicable laws.
- For the protection of children and upon receipt of reports of inappropriate content, the Company may immediately make such content private or delete it.
Article 14 (Termination of Contract and Withdrawal of Membership)
- Members may terminate the use contract at any time via the membership withdrawal menu within the Service.
- Upon withdrawal of membership, content registered to the Service by the member is destroyed immediately or after the retention period prescribed by applicable laws. However, content shared with other guardians via family sharing may remain on those guardians' accounts.
- The Company may, after prior notice, terminate the use contract when grounds under Article 13 arise.
Article 15 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Court)
- In the event of a dispute between the Company and a member regarding these Terms, the parties shall first attempt to resolve it in good faith through consultation.
- If consultation fails and a lawsuit is filed, the court of jurisdiction shall be determined in accordance with the general jurisdiction rules of the Korean Civil Procedure Act, with the court of agreed jurisdiction being the Seoul Central District Court.
- These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
Addendum
These Terms take effect on May 31, 2026.
